This antique, vintage hair wave crimper was heated on a vintage stovetop or directly on the stove fire. This measures approximately 11" long; the crimper has 2 crimps (waves) that together are about 2" wide. The wooden handles are still stunning and in remarkable condition dating back to the late 19th or early 20th century. It was used to create waves or curls in hair before the advent of electric hair styling tools. Key features include:
    Construction: Made of metal tongs with wooden handles for heat insulation.
    Heating Method: It would have been heated on a stovetop or open flame.
    Function: The heated tongs would be clamped onto sections of hair to create a crimped or curled style.
