Environmental protection officer Kitamori takes his beloved dog Goro to Hokkaido to hunt a brown bear, but is killed in a sudden attack by the bear. Goro, having lost his owner, sets out for Tokyo, driven by his homing instinct, seeking Reiko, the other owner and Kitamori's daughter. Meanwhile, Reiko, having heard the sad news, rushes to Hokkaido and travels in search of the missing Goro.
