RARE Minerva 1 Mine Purple Yellow Fluorite Crystal Polished Zoned Old Stock UV
Rare, colorful, old stock violet purple to golden yellow phantom fluorite from the Minerva No. 1 Mine in Cave-In-Rock Mining Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois, USA. This historic mine has been closed since the mid 1990ās making these vibrant specimens collectible and valuable. This fully natural, superb, color zoned fluorite is from the 1980s. The fluorite has been carved into a free form trapezoid with beveled edges and hand polished to a glossy shine to show off the vibrant jewel tone coloring. The translucent crystal shows multiple chevron stripes of defined phantom color zoning in violet purple, fuchsia pink and gold yellow with areas of rainbow iridescence in the light. The specimen has ideal clarity, color, and is also UV fluorescent, glowing blue.
