It produces large bulbs that are celebrated for its complex flavor, & fragrant aroma. The variety originally comes from near Tochliavri, a small city in Republic of Georgia. It’s often described as the perfect garlic standard. It’s wrapped in thick, white papers that are striped w/ shades of red & pink. Inner clove wrappers can be rosy pink to red, & reveal creamy white cloves once peeled. Its flavor is described as being mild, not too hot, with a tasty spicy tang. It is delicious baked, roasted, mixed into mashed potatoes, or used in pesto. Red Toch stores well, approximately 9 months, & is adaptive to summer heat.
